PokerStars, which last week was named Online Gaming Brand of the Year, has guaranteed a massive $10 million in the Main Event of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) 2015. This will make it the biggest online poker tournament of 2015.
What is the PokerStars WCOOP?
The WCOOP takes place at the best online poker site, Pokerstars. The event itself was coined in 2002, and is now the biggest and most rewarding online poker tournament series in the world.
Last year the series consisted of 66 events across a period of 3 weeks. An enormous $61,934,886 was won within the series in 2014, slightly less than the 2013 total of $62,362,757. Like this year, the 2014 Main Event guaranteed a prize pool of $10m. The winner was “CrownUpGuy” who took home $1,300,000. Could it be you this year?
How to get involved in WCOOP 2015
The WCOOP 2015 will not begin until September giving you ample time to gain entry. The No Limit Hold’em Main Event has a buy-in of $5,200 and will start on Sunday 27th September at 14:30 ET. It will continue onto the Monday for those players that reach the final stages.
Fortunately, you can qualify for the WCOOP 2015 Main Event through satellite tournaments at PokerStars. Many of these tournaments you can literally enter for free using your PokerStars Frequent Player Points (FPPs). FPPs are earned through playing real-money poker games at PokerStars. Alternatively, you can enter satellite tournaments to the WCOOP Main Even for a fraction of the $5,200 buy-in. At the time of writing you can enter a satellite qualifier for as little as $1.65.
