Sky Poker UK Poker Championships

The Sky Poker UK Poker Championships begun today at the Dusk Till Dawn poker room in Nottingham. The championships go on up until March 1st. Players have entered the tournament either by paying £1,000 directly to Dusk Till Dawn, or via online poker satellites at Sky Poker.

The main event has an excellent guarantee of £1,000,000, double the guarantee of last year, which will ensure a hefty 1st prize for the eventual champion.

The day 1 field for the main event will be split into four starting days. Day “1A” commenced today (February 22nd) at 3pm, with Days “1B”, “1C”, and “1D” starting at 1pm on February 25th, 26th, and 27th respectively.

Alongside the main event, there is also a £3,000 buy in High Roller event with £150,000 guaranteed in prize money. Day 1 of the Sky Poker UK Poker Championships High Roller tournament begins at 5pm on this Tuesday (24th of February), with the High Roller event concluding the following day.

There is also an 8-maximum event at the Sky Poker UK Poker Championships, which offers a £100,000 guaranteed prize pool, for a £1,000 buy in. This event is split into two fields. Day 1A takes place on the 27th February at 6m and day 1B on the 28th at 3pm. The final table will play out the 8-maximum event on March 1st from 1pm.

The Sky Poker UK Poker Championships should now be a regular fixture on the calendar of UK poker players. The prize guarantee for the main event compared to last year, indicates the player turnout is expected to grow substantially from the 621 players present in 2014. It was 20 year old Alex Spencer who defeated Danny Blair heads up to win £125,000 in the Main Event last year.
